New Orleans Benevolence Program

Dear Sir/Madame,

This is David Raymond with Clean Fleet Auto Body. I hope this letter finds you well and your Holiday season if off to a terrific start! I wanted to inform & invite you to participate in a truly unique, special and rewarding program we are kicking off this Holiday season.

Every day vehicles are abandoned or "written off" by owners or insurance companies due to mechanical issues or body damage. Some of these vehicles are only years old with minimal damage. Often times with a little restoration, these cars can be returned to the road in perfectly safe driving condition. We, at Clean Fleet Auto Body, believe these cars are going to waste and we’ve decided to do something about it.

This year we are proud to announce our first annual Clean Fleet Auto Body Benevolence Program. We have teamed up with several businesses in our Community and will present one deserving family with a new "used" car filled with toys, groceries, and gifts this Holiday season. We have been blessed with a vehicle donated by Rock & Roll towing, paint materials donated by Sherwin Williams & labor donated by Clean Fleet technicians. Many other local businesses in our Community have teamed up to make this possible and have donated parts, materials, and services toward restoring the vehicle. Gifts and groceries have also been donated making this event a real Community effort. We are truly grateful for everyone who is participating.

How do we choose the recipient of the vehicle? We are looking for applicants who are working hard to become independent, but the lack of reliable transportation interferes with their current & future economic status. We are looking for applicants looking to receive a "hand up, not a hand out". Applicants wishing to qualify to receive of the vehicle are required to write a one-page narrative explaining how the vehicle will assist their family to become more self-sufficient.

United Way will be assisting in the selection process by providing qualified candidates. United Way along with their team of various non-profit organizations, community impact partners, and social workers aid in breaking generational poverty in Southeast Louisiana by teaching individuals to become more "self-sufficient". These individuals are counseled in sharpening their personal working skills and finances in order to better themselves and live an independent lifestyle. This type of individual is a perfect example of who we are looking for. Applications are open to the public and must be received by December 10, 2011.

The car is in its final stages of restoration, but we still need your help! Our goal is to reward the family with not only a vehicle, but to cover any expenses associated with the vehicle for at least one year. Any monetary donation you provide, whether it be $10, $50, $100 will go toward the purchase of insurance, gas cards, & oil changes. We are also excepting groceries, toys, or anything you might like to donate to make one family’s Holiday extra special this year.

On December 23rd at 2:30pm, Clean Fleet Auto Body will host our first annual Benevolence Program Patron Party where we will announce the recipient and present them with the vehicle. All donors will be recognized by name or logo on our stage billboard and will be announced over the microphone during the presentation and throughout the event. Any food or beverage donations for the party from local restaurants, caterers, and food/beverage distributors will be greatly appreciated.

We are inviting all local media and local representatives in hopes of creating awareness and spreading the word about Clean Fleet's Benevolence Program. We not only hope to grow this program and increase the number of vehicles given away each year, but to also encourage other local business to adopt similar programs of their own.

We are excited & feel so fortunate to be giving back to a Community that has supported us for over 30 years. We would be honored for you to join us in this very special Holiday celebration.

Clean Fleet Auto Body has joined with Sherwin Williams, Rock and Roll Towing and other participants to form the New Orleans Benevolence Program. The Benevolence Program is a community relations program who’s mission is to "Present refurbished "new" used cars to deserving individuals or organizations during the holiday season."
